ACTOM Distribution Transformers secures order to supply NECRT’S units to Kamoa Copper Mine SA in the DRC

ACTOM Distribution Transformers, a division within the ACTOM Group that designs and manufactures a range of 16kVA – 10 MVA distribution and lower range power transformers, recently secured an order for the supply of its Neutral Electromagnetic Couplers with Earthing Resistors and an Auxiliary Transformer (NECRT’s) to Kamoa Copper Mine SA Copper Mine SA in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

ACTOM High Voltage secures Botswana solar power plant contract and eyes more opportunities across Africa.

ACTOM High Voltage Equipment, a South African-based leading manufacturer and supplier of electro-mechanical equipment in Southern Africa, has secured a contract to supply and deliver high-voltage equipment for the Selebi-Phikwe Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant, currently under construction in Botswana.

Solar generation system at ACTOM’s Knights site now operational at MV Switchgear

ACTOM recently gave the go-ahead for the first solar power generation system to be installed at the group’s main factory complex at Knights, Germiston. MV Switchgear is the largest consumer of power among the various manufacturing divisions at the Knights site and was therefore selected as the first division to be equipped with a solar generation system.

ACTOM Power Transformers (APT) is currently increasing the production capacity of its Wadeville, Germiston, plant, mainly to meet the substan­tial upsurge in demand expected from South Africa’s rapidly growing renewable energy generation sector.
