ENVIROsense a new environmental temperature, relative humidity and, optionally, barometric pressure transmitter has been launched by Senseca, a leader in the design and manufacture of monitoring and measurement instrumentation.

“With all three measurement criteria available in one device, ENVIROsense has been specifically designed for use in meteorological/renewable energies, HVAC/Indoor, clean rooms, OEMs and plant environments” said Jan Grobler, Managing Director of Senseca South Africa.

“Recently launched, ENVIROsense offers multiple applications, long life, advanced measurement technology and a compatibility with any Modbus-RTU master device. It is not only already a market leader in the field of environmental monitoring instrumentation, it is by far the most competitively priced device” said Grobler.

The device offers a resolution of RH 0.01%, a temperature of plus/minus 0.1 °C with plus/minus 0.1% of the measure value and a pressure of plus/minus 0.5 hPa typical at T = 25 0 C and 0.1 hPa (500-1100 hPa) at T = full range. Two optional additional 0…1 V, 0…5 V or 0…10 V (depending on model) analog outputs for temperature and relative humidity or dew point, with configurable temperature and humidity ranges are also available.

ENVIROsense provides calculated humidity quantities such as:

•Dew point

•Wet bulb temperature

•Absolute humidity

•Mixing ratio

•Specific enthalpy

•Water vapour partial pressure

•Specific humidity

•Frost point temperature

•Saturation vapour pressure above water

•Saturation vapour pressure above ice

With a rugged ø14 mm compact housing in PBT it also comprises an optional protection shield from solar radiations for outdoor applications.

The transmitter is supplied factory-calibrated in multiple points for relative humidity and is ready for use. The ENVIROsense can be supplied, if required, with an ISO/IEC 17025 calibration certificate.

Alternative models differ depending on the presence or absence of the optional barometric sensor and analog outputs, the different power supply voltage range and in the different application field.

In order to maintain high accuracy measurements, it is necessary to clean the filter periodically. This simple process merely requires the filter to be unscrewed from the body of the transmitter and brush washed under running water. Dry the filter and screw it back to the transmitter body.
